Football Pitches

Soccarena has 8 state of the art floodlit indoor 6-a-side pitches all separately cordoned off. All pitches are 3rd generation turf which is the closest thing to playing on grass as the latest technology can provide.

Outdoor there is a magnificent 3rd generation 11-a-side floodlit pitch which current Unibond North League team Durham City F.C. play their home games. The pitch outside can be transformed into 8 6-a-side pitches or 4 7-a-side pitches with 2 different options on goal sizes.

Teams and people from all over the north east, whether they are professional or not, use Soccarena’s facilities on a regular basis for things such as private bookings, 6 a side leagues, tournaments, charity events and corporate days.

Leagues

With 12 adult leagues consisting of 96 teams, running from Monday through to Sunday evening Soccarena is the main provider in the area for competitive 6-a-side football. Soccarena provides youth leagues on a Friday evening, currently running under 17's and looking to start under 13's and under 15's .

Children’s Coaching

There are many opportunities for children to get into football at Soccarena with courses held on Wednesday, Fridays evenings and Saturday mornings.

Birthday Parties

Soccarena birthday parties are a wonderful way for children to celebrate their special day, with two great options at low prices. Every party we have held has received excellent feedback, not only from the children but from the parents too who invariably can relax in the bar.

Soccarena Academy

Soccarena is a feeder club to Unibond North league Champions Durham City Football Club, with 22 teams all coached by qualified football coaches. Teams participate in the Russell Foster leagues ranging from small sided under 8’s development right the way up to 11-a-side under 17’s. Each 11-a-side team play their home games at the magnificent Esh Stadium on the 3rd generation turf.

Durham Gilesgate 6th Form Partnership

Within the last 4 years Soccarena has developed a hugely successful partnership with Durham Gilesgate Sports College and 6th Form Centre where each year an intake of 20 young men form a football academy playing at Durham City’s Arnott Stadium.

All the lads follow a BTEC course using football as a focus. The teams are coached by the legendary ex professional Dickie Ord and play in the NECL (North East College Leagues) and in the National Academy League.

Soccarena Sports Bar

Catch every live televised game on the two massive plasma TV’s. With many fine beverages and snacks available, hot or cold, Soccarena provides the perfect surroundings to watch live games.

The sports bar can be converted into the ideal venue for Family occasions and has had many memorable nights

Inflatables

Feedback from children’s parties tells us the highlight of their day is usually the inflatables. The ‘Speedshot’ judges how hard you can strike a ball in miles per hour, which is great competitive entertainment. The ‘Powersave’ is a bouncy castle with a goal at the rear and includes a ball launcher that fires sponge balls at the goal while the children have to dive about trying to save them. Difficulty levels can be changed to suit age and ability.

Pro clubs

Soccarena also has good relationships with Middlesbrough and Newcastle academy’s who use our facilities to host their academy training nights, also when weather doesn’t permit play we get the likes of Sunderland, Hartlepool and Darlington professional clubs first teams training at Soccarena.

500 seated stadium

Durham City’s New Ferens Park stadium is arguably one of the best semi professional grounds in the country with sitting and standing sheltered areas, and is the perfect venue to watch local football and other events,

The Club Bar

The Sammy Crooks suite is used mainly for match day sponsors as a V.I.P lounge and private bar but is also available to book for small conferences & training days.

Kitchen Facilities

The Soccarena Café bar also deals with catering for the children’s parties and can provide a delightful buffet for any organised event held within Soccarena.

The ‘club’ kitchen prepares food on match days and can cater for small finger buffets to a five course a la carte menu.

Conference Rooms

Soccarena’s conference room ‘theatre style’ can seat approximately 50 people, but is versatile and is used for many different gatherings. The conference room is used by many organisations to hold lessons and seminars. F.A. courses are run from it and many weekly meetings are based from here.

The conference room is also used for childrens birthday parties, a secure private room where the children are taken for food, drinks and presentations after their parties.

Changing Rooms

Soccarena provides separate luxury changing facilities for both sexes (two males, one female) including showers and changing area. The club has home and away dressing rooms plus match officials changing rooms, all with showers and toilets provided.

Sports Therapist Room

Durham City F.C. have there own sports massage therapist who deals with treatment of and prevention of sports injuries and muscle management. This is available to players of all ages throughout our academy should injuries occur, which is not something most clubs provide.

Parking Spaces

With approximately 120 spaces available including disabled parking, there is often more than enough space provided, but should there be a problem Soccarena has access to an over spill car park on site.
